London vs Texas Rollergirls – A Fistful of Rollers
{ originally posted at istoleyoursoulforthis.com }
On March 20th 2010 the Hustlers of the Texas Rollergirls traveled to London to play the London Brawling London Rollergirls team in the A Fistful of Rollers bout. It was an intense match and incredibly close (tied at several points throughout most of the bout) with the Hustlers finally pulling ahead to win 84-63.
In addition to the bout, the Texas Rollergirls hosted a roller derby bootcamp where they trained 175 participants. On their travel blog they added, “We loved their enthusiasm and watch out America–Europe has some amazing skaters and they’re going to be gunning for us all someday in the near future…”
Roller Derby is getting big in the UK and many other parts of the world and received a huge boost in attention from the release of the movie Whip It, based on Shauna Cross’ Derby Girl, starring Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page, about Texas Roller Derby.
As a photographer originally from Austin Texas (where I’m proud to say I was a Texas Rollergirls fan!) that now lives in London (where I’m proud to say I’m a London Rollergirls fan!), I want to thank both teams for coordinating a matchup I could previously only dream of and congratulate both teams for a well played bout!

Congratulations to the London Rollergirls for showing the founders of the modern roller derby scene a rough and tumble time and here's to many more fierce intercontinental bouts! Read more here. surely like your internet web site but you have to take a look at the spelling on quite several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I in locating it extremely bothersome to inform the reality then once again I will surely come again once again.
This is the information I have been trying to find. Thank you for writing this information.
