Oh, you know, it was just like any other weekend where you get to see one of the greatest movies of all time IN A PALACE! Yeah, yeah, it was a bit crowded and it didn’t match their previous BRILLIANT screening of Blade Runner, but it was great fun nonetheless.

There are a ton of bands playing at Bestival that I didn’t recognize so I pulled together a few tunes to listen to from each artist (that had content on Spotify) and made two playlists:

I also created a spreadsheet at http://www.tinyurl.com/bestivalbands to rate the bands and make notes about which ones I may want to see. The full lineup with times won’t be available until Wednesday (via the iPhone app) so no way to plan a specific route yet.

The Thames Tunnel opening was a finale to London’s 2010 East Festival. The tunnel was only open on Friday and Saturday and was the first time pedestrians have walked the tunnel in 145 years. It was once considered the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ and half the city of London paid to walk the tunnel when it opened in 1843. The tunnel, which runs between Rotherhithe and Wapping and was built by Marc Isambard Brunel, took 18 years to dig and was the first to built underneath a navigable river. In 2010 it will reopen officially as part of the London Overground.
